Curriculum....it’s like molding clay. It's moving all the time, never linear, never ending.

Those of us addicted to learning and working in our passion have a responsibility to help others understand the power of …… (fill in the blank)

We need to design playgrounds and learning environments that are High Touch & High Concept. Terms from Daniel Pink, who writes so eloquently about this whole new awakening that HAS to happen.

High touch involves
the ability to empathize,
to understand the subtleties of human interaction,
to find joy in one’s self and to elicit it in others
and to stretch beyond the quotidian,
in pursuit of purpose and meaning.
p. 52 | Daniel Pink, A Whole New Mind

Note to self: --the world’s cultural vocabulary—

Weaving all this together to design new learning environments is our mission. I’ve been thinking about the NETS S project and how it so meshes with the philosophy of A Whole New Mind. I know, I know...it's standards. But for me, it's about keeping a balance of the old and the new.

When facts become so widely valuable and instantly accessible, each one becomes less valuable. What begins to matter more is the ability to place these facts in “context” and to deliver them with “emotional impact. pg. 103 | Daniel Pink, A Whole New Mind

Design. Story. Symphony. Empathy. Play. Meaning.

What we need to remember... the mashup of success lies in our people and our ability to inspire.
