I was just wondering if there were any other workshop presenters that were a part of this community. I am sure that many of you are doing professional development for your school districts. I am finding that that range of "use" is very large when my workshops are open to a large geographical area. I usually present in a hotel (very often for BER-Bureau of Education and Research) and participants come from small rural communities and from the large city schools in the area. I have had participants who are hoping to get computers and connectivity by next year and others who have every classroom equipped with smartboards (built-in) and large networks. So, the range is one of my biggest concerns.

I also face a lot of different levels of "blocking and filtering" in schools.

I would love to hear from other presenters or would be open to any input from any of you. I look forward to reading all of the posts and in an effort to continuously keep current.

Hi Judi. I also present at different venues and sometimes the range and connectivity are issues. For instance, there have been times when I've tried to show short videos but they've only had wireless and with many people using computers in the audience the bandwidth shrinks. Also blocking and filtering has happened, and I've seen it happen to other presenters as well.

Do you enjoy presenting for BER?

Yes, Pam, BER is such a professional, well run organization with very high standards, I do enjoy working for them. I also contract personally with schools, but have stopped doing conferences for other companies. I will do 36 days for BER this year and every presentation I had for last year needs total updating!
