I have finished the Microsoft Certified Peer Coaching© Facilitator Training delivered by
Puget Sound Center for Teaching, Learning and Technology. Here are some details about the training I received and what we (Ryan, Janet & I) plan to do this year.
Details: For a week in August 2006, as well as follow-up training for four days in April, 2007 to finish the certification process, we attended Microsoft Peer Coaching Facilitator Training in Winnipeg, MB.
Our time was spent receiving specific training on the Peer Coaching Process, as well as learning how effective Peer Coaching can be as a school-based Professional Development Model as well as its effectiveness in relation to current approaches to school-improvement.
Our plan is to begin to use our new skills to develop The Peer Coaching Model in Swan Valley School Division in September of 2007. Our roles will be different in each school, but our common purpose will be to assist with the integration of technology foundation skills with both best teaching practices and lesson design.
