"I don’t think we do any type preparation for things like that. We love to show kids the benefits of technology, and how wonderful it is, but
we rarely show them the downside. We show them how the Internet is wonderful and we can do all this cool cooperative learning stuff, but we don’t show them how the use of the internet has broken up families, used by terrorists to plot acts of terror, or can cause disruptions in the world’s financial markets. Sure, we warn them about talking to strangers, but we never say “Hey, technology can be used for good and bad. This is a powerful tool and it may just screw you someday.”
