I thought I'd try this out to see how this works. I usually use my other blog but thought I'd join the network to see who's here and what people are doing.

As an administrator in rural Saskatchewan, Canada, I am interested in using technology to expand the opportunities for the students in my school. I am always looking for ideas that we can adapt to our school. I like to find information for the teachers and librarian to help them in their use of technology.

I have been involved in the use of technology since the mid 80's and have used it to varying degrees for my teaching career. For the last 6 months, I have using my blog to track my use of technology and expand my world of contacts beyond the division level. Presently I have a number of online colleagues whom I read regularly. I also post regularly on Leadertalk, a blog dedicated to addressing the issues of educational leaders that was started by Scott McLeod.

I have started a book club Reading Pros but we are a bit stalled of late. Seems we are all busy with so many other things. I really am hoping that this will take off as I would like to talk with other professionals about what I am reading and its impact on what I do. I find that being able to do this kind of interaction really helps me to deepen my understanding of the book. I had quite a bit of interest at the start so I'm hoping to pick it back up after the break.

My passions are teaching, students and bringing the two together in a constructivist/connectivist way so that the teacher can assist the student to expand their understanding. I am also passionate about the use of technology in education, using these tools to make the learning experience of students more relevant.

So, if you would like to expand this discussion or just help me to expand my network, drop off a comment or something.
