The other Sept. 11th in U.S. history...

Although September 11th will always be remembered for the World Trade Center, there was another significant element in American history on that date...in 1776. That was the day that the British and colonists met to try to avoid the American Revolution. They met at what is now called the Conference House in Staten Island, NY. More information about the meeting is at www.theconferencehouse.org. For those of us interested in technology, this meeting gives us a great opportunity. Imagine if classes could try to create a treaty that might have prevented the revolution. A class from Staten Island, for example, could negotiate with a class from London...online. They might be able to create a treaty and website. That would be cool!
