Rheingold’s analysis of the human form evolving from tiny individual cells into a greater whole entity is the perfect analogy to use in describing the integration of technology into the classroom. As he stated, the internet has opened our world and allowed individual minds to become a whole. The internet is available to anyone who has the interest of utilizing it. It is a perfect mechanism to translate curriculum ideas, build social communities (which Rheingold also mentioned), and essentially bring the “world” to the classroom. The “wealth” of the internet, and its holistic community, can and must be utilized in the classroom.
