I've been thinking about the difference between this blog space and the blog that I have just started for my school. I think the answer is audience. On my school blog I have to be very careful about not going too fast. The audience for that blog includes a lot of people who are very new to Web 2.0. I don't want to overwhelm them with information. They also consist of people who are not reading a lot of other blogs. So it is appropriate to repeat there some of the ideas that have been discussed elsewhere (with attribution of course).

I see this blog existing at a higher level. I know that if I write here about questions or ideas that I have, the people reading this blog are much more likely to respond and have some great suggestions and ideas. I see you all as my peers and teachers, while seeing the audience for my school blog as my "students." Not to say my "students" won't have great ideas. But, again, I'm very conscious of my pacing and choice of content.

I'm on vacation this week, so I have some time to write and reflect in two places. I'm not sure that I will be able to continue to maintain two blogs once school starts again. But I'm trying to commit to writing more and thinking more and reading more. I've already learned so much here. Thanks!
