Hello... Is there anyone that mainly teaches Earth Science that can send me some hands-on ideas to teach Plate Tectonics.....I have some hands-on lessons, but want to add new things and fresh ideas to my curriculum....Thanks for you help.
I used to work for K12 and they have very good resources available. Take a look at the lessons included, and hopefully they'll give you some good ideas. I'm still working towards my secondary math certification, but have heard about 6th grade science teachers stacking cardboard (4 ft x 2 ft) on top of styrafoam on top of cork and then having students step, sit, kneel, jump, or lay on the stack and then have them record what they felt. The sliding of the top cardboard layer is supposed to mimic plate slippage.
