Hello Everyone,
As many of you know, I develop digital resources for the secondary classroom.
Two years ago we developed a transition to 9 program that we called tt9. The resource was centered around literacy activities (short articles, vocabulary building, blogging and journal writing) with each activity centered around issues that students face as they transition to high school (responsibility, time management, meeting new friends etc.).
The board that piloted the program used it to both introduce students to high school, giving them a chance to meet their future classmates in a virtual world before meeting them in the real school and to build literacy skills. The program was monitored by a teacher and everything the students wrote in the virtual environment could be read by the teacher.
We have been busy developing other resources but we are considering offering this again.
So, my question to you is: Do you think this is something that we should bring out and try again?
