Acceptable Use Policies

The wordal above represents the information that I collected about the work that is being done currently to create an AUP in Denver Public Schools.  When I reached out to the Director of Instructional Technology regarding the AUP he informed me that DPS was currently revising a 15 year old document so that it would represent a “true” AUP.  He also mentioned that this work is being headed up by DPS employees, however contributions are being made by parents, teachers and students.  In addition to the old version of the AUP, he shared with me two additional policies that DPS is currently using, an internet use policy and a social media policy.  Finally, he was enthusiastic to share the districts goal around equity and providing access to technology for all students, “The District's goal in providing this service is to promote educational opportunities to schools by facilitating resource sharing, innovation, and communication.”  TBC…
