Yesterday I registered with Amplify.com after a tip from @egs. With an ever increasing amount of social widgets and applications that help share content from around the web, I was at first a little dubious that this would score any points. Earlier in the day, I also revisited Friendfeed and tried to rekindle my interest. Unfortunately I'm still trying to find a real use for Friendfeed and I've got the feeling that I may unregister in the coming weeks; time will tell. Amplify, on the other-hand, has caught my interest.
While viewing interesting articles from around the web, I can highlight paragraphs of text or only a few sentences, select images and even highlight videos. The media sources are posted to Amplify who in turn publish the content to Twitter and Facebook. The integration of Bit.ly also shortens links, ideal for use with Twitter, which in turn allows me to see statistics via Bit.ly. The interface is simple to use and allows importing of friends from Twitter, Google and Facebook. I've added a link from my Blog to Amplify and can recommend the service to other readers.
