A piece of software that I have found helpful in creating a future Flipped Classroom is the app ShowMe. My students have created a few tutorials with this app already. It gave the students the most enthusiasm that I have seen from kids in regard to fractions. They loved the process.
Our steps were:
1. They needed to pick a particular fraction that they were going to explain.
2. Draw a storyboard explaining the fraction as part of a whole, set, and show it on a timeline.
3. Record a publish the showme for the world to see.
This gave my students added motivation to learn about fractions. I also plan on using the ShowMe projects that were produced with next year's students as part of flipping my classroom. It was a ton of fun. I encourage you to give it a try!
