Springfield Gifted Day - April 29, 2009
Mark your calendars and plan to join hundreds of gifted and talented children, their parents, and their teachers from across Illinois for Springfield Day 2009 in Springfield, our state capital. Last year over 1,000 parents, students, and teachers participated and the state funded $2 million for gifted education.
This is the first time in five years that any amount was funded for gifted education. Our collective voices were heard! We will be going to Springfield again to make sure we continue to receive funding and to increase the funding level to help more teachers and students.
Meet with your legislators to share with them the need for funding for gifted education. Also see law-making in action, meet other families of gifted children from across the state, visit historic sites, and more. Please register and join us!
Read an urgent message from Dr. Sally Walker, Executive Director of the Illinois Association for Gifted Children, asking for your participation, at http://www.pace308.org/newsletters/walker.pdf
