It has been a very busy summer. I'm back to work, but now I have another school added to my schedule as a school psychologist. Because of the economic problems in my region, school psychology positions were not created to keep up with the addition of new schools. The good thing is that my third school is CATA: Central Academy of Technology and the Performing Arts!

I am sure this will be a busy, busy year. Although I wish I was still working part-time and taking graduate classes, I know that in this economy, I am blessed to have a job, and one that allows me to integrate the use of technology in my work with students.

My mission during this school year is to use technologies that will help make my work life more efficient and effective. I will have to communicate with so many teachers, now that I have TWO high schools. I will continue to work at Wolfe, a program for students with complex needs, including severe autism. We are getting FIVE Smartboards now. Near the end of the year, I was experimenting with the duo-touch function of my HP TouchSmart, and using Skype to have students communicate to other classrooms.

I have to run to work now. My high schools don't start until late August, but the students in the program at Wolfe begin this Monday.

I'll be back soon.
