Among the many challenges that teachers encounters in working with TPACK, is the integration of technology and pedagogy. This component of TPACK appears to be difficult to identify when assessing a teachers' integration of technology, content and pedagogy. In a recent investigation of TPACK competencies among pre-service teachers in Tanzania, it was found that, majority of them could integrate pedagogy and content (ask students to make groups and discuss a given concept of a content), technology and content (use PowerPoint to present a given concept of a content) but not were not able to show the integration of technology and pedagogy as they were teaching.
I guess it is difficult to integrate these two aspects (technology and pedagogy) when a teachers has short time also has limited supply of technological tools. I am still speculating this, maybe I will come up with good explanations after some more investigations.
