I just finished taking both of the inventories assigned. First, I took the MII. It confirmed one thing for me. One, that I am musical. I knew that already because I play multiple instruments. Something that the MII showed me that was unexpect was how balanced my learning styles are. Other than musical and visual/spatial, my other learning styles were all about even. This will be good when I become a teacher because I will be less likely to use just one type of learning style. I will have a better chance at being able to help all of my students. It helps as a student because no matter how a teacher teaches, I can usually understand the material. Second, I took the PLSI. It confirmed that I am more of a thinker than a feeler. Something unexpected was that I am an introvert. I knew I am shy, but I didn't realize to what extent. I am not sure how knowing this will help me as a teacher. Possibly that I will put more thought into how I teach my students.

That's one of the major things I wanted everyone to get out of taking the Inventories - and there lots of them out there - some more scientific than others: that knowing these types of things about yourself gives insight into yourself - like you may never have known before - AND that that insight - when coupled with your desire, determination and purpose as a teacher - can help forge great benchmarks and advancements in the life of a student.
