I have just been going back through some files in My Documents and found a presentation I created for the faculty based on the article "Classroom Behavior Management: A Dozen Common Mistakes and What To Do Instead" by Barbetta, Leong, and Bicard (2005). It's easy to identify with the twelve mistakes listed in their article -- I recognized how I am often guilty of those same things. The article gives practical ideas for things to do in your classroom Instead of the mistakes in management we might currently be guilty of. All of their ideas are ones which can be implemented right now, without confusing students.
Thank you for posting this. It was very informative and something that as educators we all are guilty of from time to time. I will be printing off some of the tips :)
I really enjoyed the presentation. As a pre-service teacher about to begin my clinicals, this information was very helpful.
