I really, really enjoyed using Kidspiration on the computer! For our class assignment we had to make a web mapping out our friends and family, using pictures and writing a little prayer for each person. This assignment did not take long but it was really great to actually use it, because I could realy grasp how useful it would be in the classroom.
This program is great for kids becuase it is not difficult to get the hang of and is easy to use. It is also great because you could use it with any subject you are teaching! For example, if you were doing a math lesson using different shapes you could have the student make a map nameing different three and four sided shapes. You could even find uses for Kidspiration in older classroom. For example, if you were teaching a reading class and were using the play Romeo and Juliet you could have the students map out the characters by seperating them into two families (Captulet and Montague), and tell a little about each character.
As a review on homeschool/about.com said, "kidspiration is an excellent program that provides a visual way to think, write and comprehend. The younger student will develop early literacy skills, while more advance students improve comprehension and learn to organize their ideas for writing. Kidspiration gives children the conifidence they need to improve their writing skills."
Kidspiration is a fantastic asset for any classroom!
