The leadership as the power to accomplish is more so of my leadership style. As a band director I do not tell the students what to do, I merely give them the power to choose and make the best decision amongst themselves. I want to teach my students how to think and learn for themselves. To me this will allow them to be better prepare for other classes across the curriculum.

Leadership is built on style. Yet, you have to make the right choices on how to lead and guide people. By giving the students some type of power allows them to own their learning experiences. Making it authentic. This will help them in all areas of learning.

Making students accountable for their choices is a great way to teach responsibility.  So many kids feel that they can coast by without committing to anything.  Great way to teach about life.
