I am currently preparing a new module for a course. I have previously used spreadsheets and word processors. This year I have come across CompendiumLD and I am finding it is useful in organising ideas and supporting files. If you like working with maps rather than paragraphs then try it out. http://compendiumld.open.ac.uk/ It has some useful templates for providing a bit of structure to the planning process. It allows files from other programs, including OpenOffice.org to link to the maps. Development has been backed by The Open University. Another useful project from The Open University is Cloudworks http://cloudworks.ac.uk/ a place to share, find and discuss learning and teaching ideas and experiences and organise them as clouds in cloudscapes.
