Tablets and smartphones are banned during the lesson. But it should be admitted than devices in the classroom bring a number of advantages by opening new educational doors.
Here are some new useful apps created for teachers:
Kahoot is a salvation for teachers who love to turn a boring lesson into the game in order to motivate the students. All you have to do is to enter prepared challenges and answers into the website to create a super gameshow. Afterward, your students need to download the Kahoot app to join the fun.
With Google classroom, teachers can not only distribute and grade assignments via an app, as well organize all class materials on Google Drive. Also with Google Classroom it is easy to get in touch with all class, make announcements or to engage students in discussion.
It is important to celebrate students’ achievements every step of the way. Seesaw enables to keep them in the loop on the student’s progress throughout the school year. Also with Seesaw students could store and post their best works and share with their parents. In the same time, teachers could provide examples of their students’ strengths and weaknesses to their parents.
Teach Learned Lead kind of social media for teachers, where they could meet like-minded colleagues all over the country. Teachers could share their experience, or search colleagues with relevant grade or subject. They could start discussion, share lessons, plans, ideas, or career advice. Really useful professional app.
mSpy is monitoring application that allows teachers to monitor and prevent prohibited student activity. mSpy allows to block websites and social media during the lesson, also it is a helpful tool to control sexting activity and peer pressure. This app has a lot of additional monitoring features in order to safeguard students.
Additio is a digital grade book and classroom management app. Additio lets you calculate grades, take attendance and plan the timetable all on mobile devices. It is the best way of keeping attendance, grades, and class notes.
Off course, those apps are just a drop in the bucket. But in our rapidly changing online environment, where new apps arise day by day, information about useful apps is a real treasure!
Kahoot is fun. I've used it as a review game for my social studies class from time to time. The kids like it.
