I am looking for an online (preferably free) source to use in my high school computer class. We are in a temporary location and we don't want to purchase Mavis Beacon or another program. I found CustomTyping online (www.customtyping.com) for a reasonable price and am wondering if anyone has used it. Any feedback is appreciated.
I would like to invite you and your high school computer class to pilot the innovative Nail It Now keyboarding method. It was specifically designed to be totally different to traditional software methods that use mindless random letter repetition and take too long to achieve too little. Instead, it uses mnemonics to learn the letters on the keyboard and correct finger use and is fast and fun.
Students learn the letters on the LEFT side of the keyboard and correct finger use in around 35 minutes. They, then, do the LEFT side exercises. They learn the RIGHT side of the keyboard the same way. After that, they are ready to use their real computer work in class and at home to practice (much better than being locked in a software program in sporadic sessions for many months)
If you do go ahead and pilot the Nail It Now keyboarding method and your students love it (am sure they will), we would be happy to give you a 50% discount on a Multi-User Licence in return for some kind of feedback publicity, say, you write a review in your blog (total honesty is what we are looking for). This discount price would also be cheaper than CustomTyping, is a one-off payment (no annual subscriptions) and covers everyone at your high school, including teachers and parents
