As a people with quick-paced lives, it is hard to remember every moment, so we take pictures. Pictures are our tools of reminiscences and nostalgia. We've gone through a series of different types of cameras, from Polaroids, to snap-shots, to disposables, to digital. All working for the common goal of catching the special moment in one shot. Well another type of camera that has been developed is one on the computer screen, a web-cam. MAC's have provided a photo program called Photobooth, that makes the process of capturing moments even more enjoyable.
Photobooth is a photo program that provides a place to store, take,and adjust photos. Photobooth gives options to take a photo with different traditional effects such as Black and White and Sepia. However, it also provides some unique effects to make the pictures more unique and original. It gives options such as bulge, dent, stretch, and mirror which contort the actual image being taken. Some of them make the image bigger or smaller while others may stretch or squish the image. Another set of effects it provides are sketch, pop art, comics and negative which changes the image's color and texture. Finally, Photobooth gives effects to make the people in the image look as if they were somewhere besides the room they are in, like Paris or the ocean. Photobooth definitely provides a multitude of possibilities to create original images.
Photobooth is a program that is great for people of all ages. One can use it to take images just for fun or for education or work purposes. For example, if girls were hanging out and just wanted to take snapshots of themselves, Photobooth would be a great program to use. However, if you have someone that needs a portrait of themselves for an application and they aren't near a hand-held camera, they could use Photobooth and easily take and import the picture to their application. Photobooth could also be great for a classroom setting. If students were making a report about a story they read they could easily reenact the story through images of themselves. Photobooth is a great program for those with many needs and many levels of technology knowledge because Photobooth is so diverse and easy to manipulate.
