1. Drawing

 

Description: A student describes an image to his or her partner who draws it as accurately as possible. Afterwards, the students compare the drawing to the image and the class votes on the best reproduction. Students switch roles and do the same task with a different image. 

 

Materials Needed:

-Paper

-Pencil

 

Preparation:

 


 

In Class:
1. The goal of this activity is to draw the images as accurately as possible based on their partner’s description of the image.


2. New vocabulary: Explain difference between newspaper and magazine. Have students give definitions of the vocabulary before seeing the pictures to make sure they know the words.


3. When drawing, the student describing the image will keep the clip art hidden from their partner by propping a folder up on their desk, so that there will be no peaking.


4. Students will be given a 5 minute time limit for each drawing.
