Tonight Mr. E made me recall technology that I used while growing up. The first thing that came to my mind was the good old Gameboy by Nitendo. I remember that I received the handheld gaming device as a birthday gift. I want to say that it was my sixth birthday. At the time, it was the coolest, new toy to have, mainly because you could play a game and move from place to place. I believe the Gameboy was the first game system to go portable. Besides the Gameboy, I also received the game Zelda. I remember sitting in the living room one day with my Zelda game guide and my Gameboy just gaming away. I felt like I was on top of the world. I no longer had to sit in front of the television, but could enjoy the comfort of the sunshine by sitting next to the window. (No really but you get the point about being able to be mobile with the Gameboy.) I also remember my parents taking me to Walmart so I could spend my birthday money on Gameboy accessories. With my Gameboy pack in hand, gaming light, and How to guide on Zelda, I was on my way to being one happy kid. This was shortly lived because a few years later, the Gameboy Color was introduced.
