Today in class one of the most important topics we will be covering is the the Scientific Method.  There are six steps to the Scientific Method and they are as follows:

  • Ask a Question
  • Do Background Research
  • Construct a Hypothesis
  • Test Your Hypothesis by Doing an Experiment
  • Analyze Your Data and Draw a Conclusion
  • Communicate Your Results

The scientific method is a way to ask and answer scientific questions by making observations and doing experiments.  Especially since we are just starting the Scientific Method, it is important for your experiment to be a fair test.  Which is when you change only one factor (variable) and keep all other conditions the same.  We are not trying to blow the kids mind today so we will stick to something nice and simple.  Feel free to comment on anything or ask any questions I will be happy to answer any that you have.
