Social Networking and Education

It took me awhile but now I can say that I am hooked on Social Networking! After playing around with many Web 2.0 tools like Wikis and Blogs, I didn't think that I could find a use for Social Networking such as Facebook. A co-worker encouraged me to try Facebook and within a few days I had numerous "Friends" and was instantly in touch with former students, family members and old friends. I moved to a new city a few years ago to start a new life and although I've been blessed with a great church, wonderful co-workers and new friends, I found that I missed my old friends and family.

With Social Networking, I'm able to keep up with news from old friends and family and also learn a few new things, too. I've learned about many current news events and sometimes new ideas in education and technology through the connections I have with the Social Networking sites. Sharing, learning, challenging ourselves.... isn't that what it's all about?
