- What have I learned that I was not previously aware of?
- I did not realize that cyber bullying was such a problem but that's probably because my only experience has been in the business world. Not to say that it couldn't happen in the business world, but the consequences of bullying someone at this level would be severe. I would hope that most employees had enough common sense and maturity to not do it in the first place, but if they didn't, hopefully the threat of termination would keep them from doing anything. I was also surprised to learn that the average social network user is 37, I would have guessed that it was much younger.
- What has been clarified?
- There are so many uses for social networking in education at any level. Students can use Twitter to take notes, make comments; and educators can use it to share a presentation with students who were absent. YouTube provides videos done by experts that can supplement a lesson. Blogs can be used not only for class announcements, but students can ask teachers questions that way too. I was not aware that there were such things as historical tweets/historical blogs that are written from the point of view of a historical figure.
- What do I want to pursue to find out more?
- I'd like to continue exploring bookmarking accounts. I originally chose Stumble Upon for this class, but I've also looked at Pinterest. I think there are problems with both of these programs so I will keep looking.
- Is there any issue I should share with my colleagues? If so, how am I going to do that?
- I didn't find any this week.
