Luminotes: personal wiki notebook
Luminotes is a note-taking and wiki-building tool that you can either use online or download to use offline. It allows for collaboration with others, so you can invite friends to participate as collaborators, viewers, or make them owners. It's login required, so your pages are never public-facing. And if you just want to have a personal interactive online note-taking tool, or journal, this is dead easy to use and is really clean, uncluttered, and friendly.

Intel, the world's biggst computer chip developer, has developed a useful site for teachers and educators. It can be used as a professional development site for teachers and those involved in the classroom integration of technology: it contains reports, white papers and case studies, and a free professional development supports program. The Intel Education Initiative also contains regular updates on new free tools and resources. Of course, this is a site belonging to a major product developer in technology, so always expect some "sell" in with everything else.
