As a special education student, I think it is important to learn about the special education classroom and all the technology, interventions and tools that I might one day use in my own classroom. So to start finding out more about AT and how to effectively use and include it in my classroom I have joined this online network, plus others such a Twitter, QIAT and have been trying to follow some blogs as well. But as I muddle my way through all the mass emails I get from all of these different places I find myself overwhelmed and a little scared of how to use all of this information.
Even though I do have some experience working in special education classrooms and using AT devices, my education is still severely lacking. And I find myself wanting to learn more, but I am afraid to search for information and actively ask questions, and post comments to people. What if I say something stupid? What if I say the wrong thing? I find myself stumbling around trying to soak in information but not successfully doing it. There is so much information about AT out there, and I have no idea where to start.
So...any suggestions?

Your blog post is really good. I too feel like I am in the dark with all the information that has been given to us in such a short amount of time. I also am afraid to ask questions and wonder what if my thoughts are good enough. So I will start with you and ask you a question to see how you feel about a certain topic. Technology abandonment is a interesting topic and I feel like so many tools get unused because people don't know how to properly use them or do not like what they are carrying because its embarrassing. What do you think is a good option to get away from this problem?
