I took early retirement from teaching English in the UK in June 2011 after 30 years in the classroom. My attempts to attract students to engage in online learning had some success while teaching - although it didn't come naturally to them, ironically - and I think online classrooms have so much to offer. I self-host a BuddyPress site which has real potential but at this stage I am resigned to its lack of future.
I wondered whether anyone had similar experiences - or indeed success - with stand-alone sites. I would be interested in hearing from you.
