TEACHING TECHNIQUE-THE TEAM

The concept of the Self-Fulfilling Prophecy taught me, “What you say is what you get”.
Here is the TEAM technique. First, start calling the groups of students you teach classes and call them teams. That is your first period class is a team, the second period a team etc.) You may choose to call them Learning Teams. Let each team choose a motto, a hand shake, a hand sign, a team song, you get the idea.
What makes a team? A common goal, of course. But what visual makes a team is a common outfit, or uniform.


Here is one worked wonderfully for me! Silk screened Shirts. My science class had a motto, Science is the search for truth". My Science class dressed alike in white shirts, with their name on the back, like football players, The school name on the right sleeve, Their teacher's name on the left sleeve(my name), and the class motto on the front. I told them that they could not do anything wrong with the shirt on, if they had to do something wrong ,first take the shirt off. With the shirt on they represented, the school, me, and themselves.

My biology class wore green, the Chemistry class red and the Physics class blue. We had a GREAT TIME!
The Esprit de corps was unbelievable!
