The new Bloom's taxonomy lists "creating," as the top level; consequently, I am quite interesed in developing lessons that encourage the creative mind. More importantly, I see the value of the "synthesizing" mind, perhaps because of the synthesis essay my students are required to write on the AP exam. I find this a particularly difficult skill for most of my students, however, I can clearly see now, especially after watching the video "The Networked Student," how becoming a "networker" teacher with "networked" students will greatly enhance my efforts.

Hi Donna,
Blooms....one more thing to keep in mind!
Here is another great link for potential activities and products: http://locker.palcs.org/~lquinn/BloomsTaxonomyVerbs.pdf

I need to pay more attention to the levels of Bloom's taxonomy. In general, I like the students to connect ideas, and when I create lessons I try to do this. I am busy looking at the standards. Now, I am busy looking at rubrics, and now also, I will be thinking more about the levels. I found this Youtube video, which really helps me understand just how simple it is to guide students up the levels of Bloom's taxonomy. The beginning is brilliant, and it gets a little bogged down in the middle, but at the end he recaps.

To view video, put this in your browser, for some reason the linker on the tool bar is not working! http://locker.palcs.org/~lquinn/wwGPKm2VZEI.flv
