The power of social media

I am posting these 2 links to show the power of social media.  The first one is a rally cry to the public to help stop bullying following the tragic suicide of an Ottawa teenager earlier this week (Oct 15).  The first video was made on Oct 18.

By the way, I did look into the young man's blog which is mentioned on many news reports.  It's very graphic and not suitable for discussion in the classroom.  However, I think this example of how the world can be mobilized by certain events is perhaps easier to understand than political events such as the fall of Gaddafi or the current Occupy campaign.
