Don't let your summer waste away, make a difference, make a change, or at least make it fun!
It's summer break and it's scorching outside. There are some days where you would rather just stay in and avoid the heat. Instead of wasting your day trying to find something to watch on TV, why not make this the summer different? WFP has a few ideas to while away those moments online. Instead of aimlessly surfing the net, why not try this?
Addicted to computer games? Jump into the life of a real WFP worker in the educational video game

Remember, FreeRice really is free. Every correct answer donates 10 grains of rice to World Food Programme. 10 grains doesn't sound like much? Well, since October 2007, over 80 billion grains of rice have been donated.
Laying each grain end to end, that's 560000 km,or 14 times around the earth
-
and most importantly, enough rice to feed 4,000,000 people fed for one day.
(Warning: playing FreeRice WILL improve your mind)
Budding filmmakers: join the "
hunger bytes!" competition, which takes off in October! Jump start your career in the acting or film-making industry by submitting a short video about global hunger . Get your friends involved too, and don't forget to have fun! For more information, and to see last year's winners, click here.

opinions about hunger like these 7th graders from Bangkok did.
Make a name for yourself in your community by hosting a car wash or fundraiser with kids at your school for kids around the world who don't have food. For ideas or past examples, check out what student from
AP Wagner High School and
LSE did to contribute to the fight against hunger.
Whatever you end up doing this summer, email us about it at graham.bell@wfp.org and let us know what you're up to. We'll be sure to tell your story on
