In our semi-humongous Michigan school district we've struggled with content onto our iPads
One of our principals asked how he could get 32 copies of a the book "How to Create a Culture of Achievement in your school and classroom" onto his teacher's iPads.
He could have bought the book from ASCD Press for $27.95. but he wanted to know how he could put the $18.95 Kindle book on the ipads instead.
The answer was Amazon Whispercast.
The school saved $270 by "buying electronically"
Naturally, this process works with Kindles too (and android devices or computers using the cloud readers)
Using Amazon to Publilsh
As a teacher, you can use a whispercast account to publish your own documents and distbute them to your devices in the same way.
Whispercast Drawbacks
The biggest downside is that the initial setup is a fair amount of work and can be a little confusing.
They need to make it simpler for customers. Still, their tech support was quite helpfull.
and of course, they are ultimately in it for the money.
