" What Do You Want To Become?" :A Reflective Classroom Teacher 29

Thank you for reading my thoughts. I hope in some small part I have provided information that will make you a more effective teacher.
What are the goals you have set for your personal well being? The most frequent answers we receive from future teachers to that question are peace, joy, happiness and success in my personal and professional life. These are admirable goals that are worth pursuing. However, when we speak of what you want to become, we speak of a much deeper connotation. How is it your want to be thought of in the community? When you are not present to influence the conversation, what will people say about your character? You must never confuse what you do and who you are. They are inseparable to be sure, but they are two different inanities. The only thing you ever had when you came into this world was potential. The only thing you are going to leave is the memory of what you did to achieve your potential. Remember, you work is not ordinary; it is extraordinary. It is a noble profession and deserves nothing less than your best effort.

To Mother Teresa; who taught us, that," Unless life is lived for others, it is not worthwhile."
