What happened to Second Life?

There are many more competitive Social Media sites. Maybe not in the virtual environment of Second Life, but easy to get used to and easy to use. Second Life has a rather steep learning curve for first time visitors, so most of them zap away and will never return.
Second life has to deal with that first. It's just like the BBC-articles says: there are lots of weirdo's on Second Life bothering u, and it's hard to find some usefull stuff
