WHAT SCHOOLS SHOULD BE TEACHING (NOT THE STANDARDIZE TEST).  THE RIGHT SEQUENCE

WHY-HOW-WHICH-WHEN-WHAT-WHERE-WHO

WHY LEARN

STUDENTS MAY NOT BE INTERESTED IN THE SUBJECT THAT IS CURRENTLY BEING TAUGHT. THAT IS MORE OFTEN THAN NOT BASED ON THE ENTHUSIASM LEVEL OF THE INSTRUCTOR. WE MUST REMIND THE STUDENT THAT HE/SHE WILL BE REQUIRED TO LEARN SOMETHING. HE MUST LEARN TO SURVIVE. PEOPLE HAVE TO LEARN. WE LEARN TO DRIVE, OPERATE CELL PHONES, AND USE GPS DEVICES, TO PLAY VIDEO GAMES AND MUCH MORE. WE DO LEARN. WE HAVE TO LEARN.  ONCE THE INSTRUCTOR HAS CONVINCED THEM THAT THEY MUST LEARN, THE NEXT LOGICAL STEP IS, HOW DO WE DO IT.? http://williamlambert.net/  (select video #2)

HOW DO YOU INTERNALIZE INFORMATION

WE MUST INTRODUCE LERANING TECHNIQUES. VERY FEW TEACHERS EVER TOUCH ON HOW.WE MUST INTRODUCE AND UTILIZE MNUMONICS. WE MUST RE-INTRODUCD AND FULLY UTILIZE FLASH CARDS.  JERRY LUCAS’ LEARNING TECHNIQUES SHOULD BE WIDELY USED. SONGS, RAPS, GAMES, ACROSTICS SHOULD ALL BE USED. OTHER TECHNIQUES ARE THE MAKE A WORD METHOD, THE MAKE A SENTENCE TECHNIQUES AND THE LOOK FOR RELATIONSHIPS METHOD.     http://doctormemory.com/html/childrens_educational_courses.html

WHICH LEARNING TECHNIQUE DO YOU USE

PEOPLE HAVE DIFFERENT LEARNING STYLES. SCHOOLS DO VERY LITTLE TO ACCOMMODATE LEARNING DIFFERENCES. THE STUDENT MUST FIRST CONSIDER WHICH TECHNIQUE WORKS BEST FOR ME. THE SECOND CONSIDERATION SHOULD BE THE MATETRIAL TO BE INTERNALIZED. FOR EXAMPLE, IF ONE HAS TO LEARN LISTS OF THINGS IN ORDER, OR LIST OF THINGS THAT DO NOT REQUIRE A SPECIFIC ORDER. THEN THE MAKE A SENTENCE AND THE MAKE A WORD TECHNIQUE MAY BE THE BEST. IF ONE HAS TO LEARN FACTS OR DATES IN HISTORY, THEN FLASH CARDS MAY BE BEST.  YOUTUBE VIDEOS ARE AN OPTION FOR COMPLEX CYCLES. http://www.howtolearn.us

WHEN DO YOU USE IT

You should use learning devices “ALL THE TIME”.  It is very important to experience “The JOY of LEARNING” One should use the peg method (http://changingminds.org/techniques/memory/peg.htm) AND (  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=erPe-j2fw-Q )to remember what is to be purchased at the grocery store. One should use the “RELATIONSHIP METHOD”(http://www.thewebbuilder.com/learn/elate2.WMV ) to remember names of people at meetings

WHAT TO LEARN

Here the instructor should teach this concept. It is easy to learn those things that are very interesting to you. To best determine the efficiency of your learning techniques try to use them to learn the things in which you have absolutely NO INTEREST. If you are ENGLISH major try to use learning techniques to internalize concepts in CHEMISTRY. Some subjects in high school and college are REQUIRED. These you have to conquer. So get your armament of mnemonic devices and acrostics.( http://www.marcandangel.com/2008/06/02/50-things-everyone-should-kn...  )

WHERE TO FIND WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

THE FIRST THING THAT COMES TO MIND IS THE INETRNET. Google it is the theme today. But some things might require an Atlas.  Encyclopedias are almost never used today but are still viable.  Court records, Blue prints, old Newspapers, the readers guide to periodical Literature, and experts in their fields of study   should also be taught. Students should be taught that if they use Google, they should see where Google is getting the information and document that source. https://www.youtube.com/ is amazing. You can find videos on car repair for example that can actually save you thousands of dollars. Try this (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SM4LbGDCZn0 )

WHO CAN HELP ME LEARN?

Find those that know. Find those that WANT to learn. Set up a study group.  ANYONE that can read, if you use flashcards (with the question on the front and the answer on the back.  http://www.thewebbuilder.com/educate/flashcards.htm. Another “who” is youtube.com. Whatever you need to learn is probably explained using a video on https://www.youtube.com/ (Try IT NOW)
