The mentors will meet their groups again tomorrow. Each week I’ve been sending them an agenda and this week is not different, asking them to go over the various components their group needs for a complete Exhibition.
Action Plan; what they intend to do at a local level from what they’ve learned to actively make a difference
What type of display will they use
Oral Presentation
Performance they will include in their Exhibition.
The mentor should question the students and refer them back to the central idea, getting them to articulate HOW what they plan on doing/presenting/creating is relating to the central idea “The Way we use resources today affects future generations”. If it’s a display they may ask a description of it and how they could improve it to reflect some of the issues they’ve learned about.
This will almost be the last scheduled meeting for the mentors and their group, as the next time they meet, their group will present their Exhibition to their mentors, finally showing off the work they’ve accomplished together.
The mentors also have received the final copy of their group research paper. We are asking them to read through it and assess it using the research essay task rubric developed. They will then return the rubric to the homeroom teachers the day of the Mock Exhibition.
