Hi Ambreen, Currently I am living in Abu Dhabi and working as an early year's co-coordinator in a Montessori setting. Our nursery has started I CT initiative for children, 3 - 6 years of age. As a pure Montessori set up we were a bit reluctant to introduce this tool to the children. But through research and exploring the benefits of linking ICT and Montessori material, we have now come to the conclusion that children should get a chance to spend a controlled period of time in exploring and using ICT to develop their skills. Therefore we have recently incorporated i pads in our learning tools. The only barrier I see is the ICT curriculum and appropriate planing for the use of i pads. Sometimes I see teachers using it only for music and story time. But we have started working on it and I will keep you updated on this. Regards
Sure Ambreen,
After having discussion on this topic with other people I came to know about two main barriers:
teachers are less train to use ICT in their lesson
Schools are reluctant in buying new technology for the students and teacher as it hammer their budget
I hope it will help you,
hello i am here!
