I am interested in your organization of National History Day at your school. I tried it a few years ago with my 8th graders and lets just say, there is room for improvement. ha! I am also interested in the activity you had shared at a NHD workshop about when students are choosing partners--something to do with a ship, I think. Finally, I am curious about the Ning. I would like to set up the site and have each student take on a Rev. War or Civil War historical person and then communicate through this site as though they are that person. Any advice on making that a success?

I am going to use the facbook/ning style page for my US History studnets next semester for the Civil Rights Movement. I think what you did is fantastic, and I am wondering how you went about grading students on the Ning. Thanks!
