About Me
I'm a middle aged Technology/Leadership college prep instructor at a charter school in urban South Los Angeles. I've been at my school since it opened in 2004. Its my first and only teaching experience, except for when I was a substitute in the California Juvenile Penal system.
My first career was spent as an Television Anchor/Reporter
working in several small and medium markets in Northern
California, Oregon and Nevada.
It was exciting and a lot of fun. But it was very self absorbed, self serving career, always looking for the big story at expense of others that further my career.
Both my paprents were educators so I took the plunge and joined the family business.
My credential and expertise is social studies, however I was hired to be the tech. teacher at my school while I was a college intern.
I love international travel, outdoor activities including the beach, hiking, river rafting, photography, museums and stimulating conversastion.

HI Eric,

Glad you're here. I'm beginning blogging with my 6th graders. I plan on using Edublogs. The biggest advantage for me, is that kids can post comments using the subsidiary gmail addresses I've given them. Some other blogging platforms won't accept them. Here's a link about the advantages of, and "how to" regarding subsidiary gmail accounts for young students.

Hope this helps.
