I agree...and my wife an I struggle daily with limiting the amount of "technology" stimulus that our children are exposed to. It is a struggle but we have seen the benefits with our older son and his love for reading. I do think it is a powerful video and it gets the point across with no words.
"A Vision of K-12 Students Today - Video ". From my perspective, it seems as if today's youth is so comsumed by technology. Although technology is a wonderful tool for communication and for learning, to name only a few benefits, is it necessary to spend so many hours a day multi-tasking? I do agree that we, as educators, need to utilize technology to maximize student learning, but I hope to use a balanced approach. In addition, with so much information available at the finger tips, it becomes necessary to help students discern quality from junk. It frightens me to think about how easily accessible the world is to young minds that may not be appropriately guided. After all, "what goes in must come out."
