I am Director of Curriculum at a private school in Honduras. I have been in international education for 23 years. I visit the States several times each year and use the web for staying current on news in education. I have a great husband who is a technophile and a super houndog who keeps me laughing.

If you're interested in Education Technology at your International School, I recommend you take a look at Wiziq's virtual classroom and authorstream's power point presentation platform. Both are web based platforms, have a bunch of features and free basic service.
Hi Jo, I found you through Jim Lerman. I teach Spanish I for 8th grade students in Texas and lived in Cd. Victoria, Tamps., Mexico as an 8th grader. Glad to have found you! Your work sounds interesting!
Hi Jo,
For middle school philosophy, I'd suggest starting with the National Middle School Association (nmsa.org). For instructional strategies, a good place to start might be the Professional Development section of the website my project maintains called Educational Hotlinks for Middle School People. It's located at tinyurl.com/l5xst. Hope this is helpful.

Jo,
I was thinking mostly about online experiences, given your location. I'm aware of a few that might be of interest. I'll get a list together and get back to you

6:07 am?! Impressive.
Are you looking for inperson or online training for your math teachers? I'm guessing online, but I don't want to assume anything incorrectly.

I am a member of Wiziq and agree that it performs a great service. I need to check out authorstream though.

We will have to keep in touch, especially since you want your students to write to others in Spanish. We definitely have native speakers here.
