We have just formed 2 language arts classes that are using Edmodo. Currently, we are doing a compare/contrast on reading a short story with video clip interpretations, among other activities. Have you narrowed down your topics for our worldwide group?
Ben Curran is developing an Online Book Club for grades 4-6 if you are interested. You can check it out here: http://bookclub21.wikispaces.com/
We would love to have any interested teachers join!
With your work in Technology and Video Conferencing, I recommend you take a look at Wiziq's virtual classroom and authorstream's power point presentation platform. Both are web based platforms, have a bunch of features and free basic service. Here’s a public class recording you might find of interest.
