About Me
I grew up in Pahoa, Hawaii. Graduating in 1993, I went on to Hawaii Community College, where I studied early Childhood Education. After one semester I decided I needed to broaden my life experiences before continuing on with my education. I moved to the surreal mountains of Telluride, Colorado. There, I worked and played for several years joining the MARR's Team (Mobile Aerial Rapid Rescue Team). This taught me a lot about digging down inside and finding the courage to overcome many obstacles.

Then I moved to Gunnison, Colorado where I enrolled at Western State College of Coloradoin 1999. I majored in communications with an emphasis on Mass Media. I minored in Recreational Studies. The Mass Media outlet gave me the chance to work for 91.1 fm where i was able to get an on air DJ License and become the RPM Director. I also worked at WSC TV 6. Here i learned the to work in the TV Studio running cameras, booms, switch boards and directing short news programs. The Recreational Studies was exceptionally interesting. I was given the opportunity to put on social events. I conceptualized a Skateboard contest from Start to Finish. Preparing the many details from Liability waivers to sponsors as well as arranging live musical entertainment. I graduated in 2004 with a greater drive to keep learning.

I then moved to South Korea where I began my teaching career. I have been in South Korea ever since September 2004. I have learned that being a teacher is not all about standing in the front of a classroom telling students what to do. It is more about gaining the trust of a student so that they can express themselves and share their ideas with me. Then we can work together to help the students achieve the dreams that they have. Working with children you must get down on there level and help them gain confidence in themselves so that they will ask the questions How, What, Where, WHY and can you Help me.

Now, I am an educator looking to broaden my knowledge base.
With all the new educational tools arising in a tech format. I find myself needing to get involved and learn from more experienced educators how to utilize the tools that are being developed to teach the students of the future.
