I've been a classroom teacher for 11 years teaching grades k, 1, and 4. I switched jobs this school year 2007/2008, when an opportunity came up that I couldn't pass up. Now I'm the library media-specialist at a public school in Ridgewood. It's hard giving up the classroom however and I find myself missing it--sometimes.

Hi Lcarter. I teach in Illinois. The LRC director at my school and I are great friends. We can up with a project for macs that allows kids to do some lit centers about picture books and then once they have finished the required lit centers they get to podcast a book talk. Here is a link to a similar project I do in my 6th grade classroom http://web.me.com/mrsmorgan/Literature_Circles/Lit_Circle_Book_Talks/Lit_Circle_Book_Talks.html. Please email me if you would like me to send you the information, I am happy to share. We presented this at our state's tech conference this year and it was part of a $50,000 grant from the Secretary of State of Illinois.
Happy New Year! I was wondering if you or your students would be interested in participating in a nationwide SAT Vocab Video Contest @ MIT university. If not, perhaps you have some educator contacts you could direct me to. We'd really like to get more students involved from NJ!
You can view contest details at BrainyFlix.com Please let me know. Thanks!
