Hi Mark, I find that a class blog works well for the young for a start. So that the teacher is in control of the activity on the blog. Edublogs is a good format to use. However, if you wanted to collaborate with others on the projects you are doing wikis would also be good. However, if you wanted younger students to get involved and put data up with their own logons, I would suggest they get their own blogs.
If you still have the younger students, I suggest that you have a class blog and simply add samples of their work up there. They could add comments back on the work to allow active input from them again through you. See our preps/1 blog is and grade 2
Hello Mark and welcome! I teach in smaller rural school in South Eastern Australia. Although I am secondary trained, I do teach grades 2-12. With the younger ones, I have done some work with voicethreads. We have also worked on drawing images using MS Paint and then put them onto their class blog. I would be interested in knowing what you are doing with yours.
